A Thriller
The Grown-Up
Fifteen-year-old Lies wakes up one morning with a feeling that something has happened to her mother, Jet. Her bed hasn’t been slept in, and she has left her mobile phone at home. Over the next twenty-four hours, not a single sign of life emerges. Lies’s father and his new girlfriend, Laura, call the police. They believe Jet’s disappearance is linked to her mental health: she had never come to terms with the divorce and may have decided to disappear. Or worse. Lies, however, is certain her mother would never do such a thing and decides to investigate herself, with far-reaching consequences.
