The Perfect Lie

Evert Struyck, happily married, a father of two and a successful businessman, drugs his wife and children on a cold winter’s night, downs a bottle of vodka and then sets fire to his house. His wife, Babette, and their children narrowly manage to escape, but Evert himself dies in the blaze.

Their circle of friends is shocked and bewildered. But when their friend Karen takes Babette and her children in, she soon discovers that the friendships within their dinner club are not as unconditional as they first appeared. When other friends become involved in unlikely accidents, it gradually becomes clear that several people had an interest in Evert’s death.
